As Hayden et al. (2023) underlined in their article: “There is substantial evidence of the connection between career development and mental health. Executive processing, including associated feelings and thoughts, has been found to significantly impact career decision making and problem solving.” This again emphasizes the importance of the role which educational professionals have in this process. Conscious attention to this process and the processing of information by an individual, or student for that matter, regarding perceived capabilities and career prospects are essential as they contribute to health, well-being and identity development. Therefore support and a nurtering environment, as well as appropriate interventions, can contribute to a positive career perspective and an individual a sense of meaning and purpose. Food for thought in a world where digital connection is the predominant, when personal connectedness can be the key. Listening and understanding can provide us with information on specific needs for each individual.
